As we gear up for the International Leadership Association’s 2025 Global Conference in Prague, Czehia (October 15-18) under the theme “Leading Together,” I’m thrilled to share a sneak peek into a session that’s close to my heart: Global Voices: Amplifying ILA Leadership Voices from Around the World.

This panel is more than just a presentation—it’s a celebration of leadership perspectives from across the globe. While ILA is an international organization, a significant portion of its membership still hails from North America. Our Global Voices initiative was born out of a desire to truly globalize the conversation around leadership by spotlighting voices from Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Americas (with a focus on the Caribbean and South America).

I’m honored to moderate this dynamic panel featuring an incredible group of colleagues: Dr. Shane Mohammed (Trinidad & Tobago), Dr. Pauline Elwin (Dominica), Latoya Johnson (Bahamas), Dr. Bjorn Eklund (Norway), and Dr. Jenny Fang (China). Each of them brings a unique lens to leadership—whether it’s strategic leadership, collaborative governance, mentorship, or distributed leadership. Their insights are rooted in diverse cultural contexts, and together, we’ll explore various leadership styles from around the globe.

What excites me most is the opportunity to engage with attendees and share stories that reflect not only our professional expertise but also our cultural identities. From the Caribbean to China to Norway, our panelists will discuss how leadership education and development are being shaped by local realities and global demands. We’ll dive into topics like DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging), intersectionality, and the importance of mentorship in building inclusive leadership pipelines.

The session will be interactive, with time for audience questions and reflections. We’ll also share how you can get involved with the Global Voices project and help amplify leadership perspectives from underrepresented regions.

If you’re attending ILA 2025, I hope you’ll join us. It’s going to be a powerful conversation—and a meaningful step toward truly leading together and we hope to see you in the session!

If you are interested in our movement in general, please feel free to reach out to us anytime.
